This page covers two things: who owns the photographs and writing published here, and what this website does with information about the people who visit it.
Ownership
Every photograph, image, video, caption, article and page on this site, together with the site’s design and layout, is the property of the site owner and is protected by copyright. All rights are reserved. Nothing here is in the public domain, and nothing here is offered under any open or Creative Commons licence.
Use requires written permission
You may view this site in a web browser for your own personal, private enjoyment. That is the only use granted. Any other use of any content on this site, in whole or in part, requires the prior written permission of the site owner. Verbal or implied permission is not sufficient, and permission granted for one use does not extend to any other.
Without that written permission you may not:
- copy, download, save, screenshot, print or otherwise reproduce any content;
- republish, post, share or distribute any content, including on social media, messaging platforms, forums or any other website;
- modify, crop, retouch, edit or create derivative works from any content;
- display any content publicly, or use it in any exhibition, publication or presentation;
- use any content for any commercial purpose whatsoever, including advertising, promotion, stock libraries or resale;
- remove, alter or obscure any copyright notice, watermark, credit or embedded metadata;
- hotlink to, embed, frame or otherwise present any content as part of another website or service;
- collect content by any automated means, including scraping, crawling, harvesting or bulk downloading.
No use for artificial intelligence or machine learning
The site owner expressly refuses and reserves all rights in respect of text and data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence. No content on this site may be used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark or otherwise develop any machine learning model or artificial intelligence system, and no content may be included in any dataset, corpus, index or archive assembled for those purposes, whether commercial or non-commercial.
This paragraph is intended as an explicit reservation of rights, including for the purposes of Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 on copyright in the Digital Single Market and any equivalent provision in any other jurisdiction.
The people in these photographs
This is a family site, and the photographs show identifiable people, including children. Beyond copyright, those people have their own rights to their image and privacy. No photograph showing an identifiable person may be used, reproduced or published for any purpose without written permission, and permission will not be given for any use involving a child except to close family. Please do not repost pictures of the children shown here, even privately.
Asking for permission
Requests are welcome, and the answer is often yes. Please write to copyright@vinokurov.com, saying which images or text you mean and exactly how you would like to use them. Any permission given will be limited to the use described in that request.
Privacy: what this site collects
This site is run for family and friends, not as a business. It carries no advertising, no analytics and no tracking or profiling of visitors. Nothing you do here is used to build a profile of you, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
Two ordinary things do happen when you visit:
- Server and security logs. Like any web server, this site records requests, which includes your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser’s user-agent string. The site also runs security software that records failed login attempts and blocks suspicious activity. These records exist to keep the site online and are not used for any other purpose.
- Cookies. No cookies are used to track visitors. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site, and the language switcher may store your language choice so the site remembers it.
Comments are switched off across the whole site, so there is no comment form and no comment data.
Third parties
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. This means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No other third-party service receives anything about your visit. Translation is done and stored on this site itself; no page content is sent to any external translation service.
Private galleries
Some galleries are marked private and are visible only to signed-in users with permission to see them. They are not listed publicly and do not appear in the site’s public pages.
Your requests
If you appear in a photograph here and would like it removed, or you would like to know what information the site holds about you, write to the address above and it will be dealt with promptly. A request to take down a photograph of yourself or your child will always be honoured.
Changes
This page may be updated from time to time. The terms that apply are the ones published here at the time you use the site.
